THE PLANT

Spirulina production in the heart of Tuscany

Severino Becagli’s Spirulina is cultivated and collected at the San Lorenzo Estate, in Grosseto, in a historical farmhouse with a high-tech heart located in the heart of Tuscany’s Maremma. Our Spirulina grows in open ponds, called raceway ponds, inside computerized greenhouses, which allow for perfectly regulated cultivation conditions, eliminating the risk of contamination of the final product

Certifications

Severino Becagli’s Spirulina is synonym of quality. The most elevated standards are respected from the beginning of production to the delivery of the final product. Our Spirulina is certified 100% Organic, Kosher and has the FDA certificate for sales the USA
  • Every company applying for an organic, or “Bio”, certification has to undergo a series of inspections of the whole production process. Organic food must not be treated with any artificial flavorings, coloring or sweeteners, and must not contain any genetically modified organisms (GMO).

    The cultivation, the processing and the distribution of organic products, as well as their importation, is regulated by European laws defining production norms, control systems, labeling standards and procedures for importing them from non-EU countries.

  • The Vegan certification attests that the product is made without using food, ingredients, or processing aids of animal origin. It also certifies that none of the technological devices, filters, membranes and other processing aids used in the whole production cycle are of animal origin.

  • Kosher means suitable, proper, and law-abiding. Usually, the word Kasheruth indicates the set of religious rules that underlie the dietary habits of observing Jews. The Kosher certification is obtained through an inspection procedure carried out by a Rabbi association, which supervises every aspect of the production.
