Spirulina is collected expressly on costumer’s order, vacuum packaged and immediately sent to the destination in packaging that guarantees temperature control. The algae is still alive, enzymatically active. Thanks to the immediate bioavailability of its elements, nutritional values and body’s benefits are exalted. Spirulina’s cell wall, unlike the other microalgae, is composed by lipids, that instantly allows absorption at stomach level. Characterized by an intense green color, the algae comes in “pasta”’s form with patè’s consistency. The taste results more delicate than dried Spirulina, with hints of pumpkin’ seeds and mushrooms.
Excellent also consumed by itself.

Dried Spirulina


The Spirulina collected at ours installation is filtered and dried in sterile environments. The drying room is dark and ISO 8 insulated, and temperature is kept below 45^ C in order not to compromise its quality, since proteins and antioxidants are thermolabile and photosensitive. Spirulina is packed in sealed bags, air and light proof. Characterized by a dark intense green color with bluish reflections, dry spirulins comes in flakes, spaghetti and powder form. The flavor results strong with hints of pumpkin’ seeds and mushrooms. The recommend dose goes from 5 to 6 grams per day (up to 30 grams for an athlete). Dried Spirulina can be consumed crumbled on top of salads, yoghurt, meat and fish. It can be added to tomato’ sauce as well, or once pulverized, it can be mixed with water and oil and then mounted in order to obtain 100% vegetarian mayonnaise.

Phycocyanin


We are dealing with a highly elevated proteic level extract of the Spirulina. Phycocyanin is the blue protein with high antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and invigorating power of the immune system present only in blue-green algae. Phycocyanin extract is a liquid with an intense electric blue color. When you shine a light directly through it, the liquid appears purple. This kind of fluorescence is typical of phycocyanin and indicates its purity.

Our granulates are a special prepared products, unique in the world, made of Severino Becagli’s Spirulina produced in the Grosseto’s installation. Its quality can be tested by a rapid and easy execution: take a transparent glass, cover it with kitchen paper and place a tablespoon of grains on top of it; then slowly pour some water over the grains and observe the color of the liquid that filters into the glass. This liquid will be bright blue, blue or blue-green depending on the type of the grains, but the most important thing is that once illuminated with a flashlight will vividly shows its purple fluorescence, distinctive characteristic of pure phycocyanin. Try to do the same execution with other products placed on the market and you will immediately notice the difference.
